Day 1:TRANSITIONS (30-40 minutes) 1.Tell students that Chollas-Mead is going to be an even better school this year. One way in which school will be better and more fun is to learn how to act at recess. We are going to watch a video showing how we used to act here at school. 2.Show the, “The Recess We Don’t Want to See,” video. 3.Ask the students what concerns them about recess/inappropriate behavior from the video; activate prior knowledge. You may want to use a circle map for this. 4.Tell students that today we’re going to discuss how to go and come back from recess/transitions. 5.Show the, “What to Do Before and After Recess,” video, pause before the Quiz. 6.Highlight, through discussion, the main points of the video, including the proper return of equipment. 7.Review with class policy #1, 7, and 8 by reading from the “Student Responsibilities” section of the Playground Policy with the class: ·Students will walk with their class and teacher to the line up area ·When the bell rings to signal the end of recess, students will:
